SUMMARY:Music in the Garden - Spring Series 2025
DESCRIPTION:Each week the garden gates behind the Creative Arts Center will open at 6:30 pm for the Spring series of Music in the Garden.  Shows will start at 7:00 pm. $5 cover fee per person.  We will accept cash and cards at the gate.  Guests can also purchase their tickets ahead of time online at the center’s website in order to breeze through the line. Family friendly event.  Bring lawn chairs or blankets.  Guests are welcome to bring their own beverages and food\, including adult beverages.  The Center is located at 200 W. 5th in Bonham.  For tickets and more information\, visit www.CreativeArtsCenterBonham.org.\n\nThe Creative Arts Center is pleased to offer another spring series of Music in the Garden\, starting April 3.  There will be five outdoor concerts in all\, open to the public on Thursday nights at 7 pm. New this year\, there will be a $5 cover charge to help off set the costs of the bands. \n\nThe Buzz Andrews Band will kick the series off\, on April 3.  Buzz has been playing all over North Texas for over 20 years. From Johnny Cash to Merle to Sting to Grand Funk Railroad to Clapton – no one does it better!  He and his band will entertain your socks off and send you home with a huge grin.\n\nOn April 10\, the center is pleased to welcome Mark Lafon and Ariana Ortiz to our garden stage. These two are more than just artists\, their songwriting skills are an impressive combination of awesome melodies and meaningful lyrics that come from life’s wisdom. Their original songs\, along with some truly amazing guitar playing – you can expect a serious throwdown in the garden.\n\nOn April 17\, the Center is excited to welcome back the talented Michael Tuck.   If you caught his show last year at the Arts Center\, you already know why he was asked back so soon. Michael plays lead guitar with Pat Green by day\, and then does a Clark Kent/Superman switcheroo\, and really is one of the finest chicken pickin’ guitar players you will hear. He excels in every style\, but his chicken pickin’ guitar is one of the most impressive. It’s a show you don’t want to miss!\n\nOn April 24\, the band called 78 Live will be playing on the garden stage. These are great friends of the Arts Center that play all over the Texoma region. They bring a ton of talent and fun to the stage\, and they play a great mix of originals and cover tunes.\n\nThe Uptown Drifters will be closing out our fall concert series on May 1 with their special brand of Texas Swing.  There is something real cool about Texas Swing and The Uptown Drifters will absolutely blow the roof off. Come early to check out the new artwork for the May show. Art show opening will be come and go from 5-7 pm inside the Art Center (free admission).  Credit Union of Texas will have their food truck here in our parking lot\, serving up free tacos from 5:00 – 7:30 pm.

SUMMARY:Texas Mission of Mercy (TMOM) Free Dental Clinic
DESCRIPTION:Press Release\nTexas Mission of Mercy\, Inc.\nBonham\, Texas\nApril 11th – 12th\, 2025\nFree Dental Clinic to Provide Needed Dental Services to Underserved Patients in and around Bonham\, Texas \nTexas Mission of Mercy (TMOM)\, a mobile dental clinic that delivers pain-relieving dental care at no cost to underserved Texans\, is coming to Bonham\, Texas on April 11th and 12th\, 2025. According to the American Dental Association\, many adults do not have access or qualify for programs that provide needed dental care\, which can lead to more serious health problems due to the untreated dental issues.\nTexas Mission of Mercy\, Inc. (TMOM) is working to address this need\, hosting 4 pop-up dental clinics across Texas each year. At each 2-day TMOM event\, organizers and volunteer dental professionals coordinate to provide appropriate dental care for patients in need. TMOM’s mission is to improve access to dental care to the underserved of Texas.\n“Our volunteer dental professionals’ primary focus is on relieving pain and preventing infection by providing extractions\, fillings\, and limited hygiene. These volunteers come from all over Texas and beyond to care for those in need\,” said Dr. Doug Bogan\, President of TMOM\, Inc. More than 50 volunteer dentists and 450 volunteers from the dental profession\, businesses\, and\ncommunity groups will provide charitable care to the community of Bonham and the surrounding areas. \nTMOM\, Inc. * 1946 S. IH 35 Ste. 400 * Austin\, Texas 78704 512-448-2441 * www.tmominc.org\nTMOM\, Inc. * 1946 S. IH 35 Ste. 400 * Austin\, Texas 78704 512-448-2441 * www.tmominc.org \nThe dental services\, which are free of cost to patients\, include basic\, pain-relieving\, and preventive\nprocedures such as fillings and extractions. TMOM will be taking walk up patients on a first-come\, first-serve basis. Patients are encouraged to show up early in the morning on Friday\, April 11th or Saturday\, April 12th at the Fannin County Multi-Purpose Complex. Anyone aged 8 and up is welcome. Patients under 17 years old must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. \nTMOM will host two Pre-Screen events to assess patients’ needs ahead of the main event. A Pre-Screen is an initial evaluation where patients receive basic health and dental screenings to determine their treatment needs\, ensure they meet event criteria\, and prioritize care plans. This process helps streamline event-day operations by identifying necessary resources\, scheduling procedures efficiently\, and enhancing the experience for both patients and volunteers. \nPre-Screen Details (By Appointment Only):\nFirst Pre-Screen at Bonham Specialty Clinic: March 21st\, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM\nSecond Pre-Screen at Bonham Specialty Clinic: April 4th\, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM \nTo register\, please visit bit.ly/bonham-prescreen.\nPlease note: Attending a Pre-Screen is not required to receive treatment at the event.\nTMOM anticipates many people will show up for this free dental service. We encourage patients to arrive as early as 5:30 AM and expect a long day. Patients should bring a list of their\nmedications. Food and drinks will be provided for those waiting for dental care. TMOM is a program of Texas Mission of Mercy\, Inc. and is supported by the Texas Dental Association\nSmiles Foundation and the Texas Dental Association. Since 2001\, TMOM\, Inc. has held 93 missions events throughout Texas\, providing care to more than 55\,000 patients.\nFor information or to volunteer\, please visit www.tmominc.org.

SUMMARY:Poetry at the Arts Center
DESCRIPTION:Poetry at the Art Center: Readers\, Writers\, and Listeners Wanted!\nJoin us at the Bonham Creative Arts Center for a monthly celebration of poetry in all its forms. Whether you write your own verses\, love to share favorite poems\, or simply enjoy listening to the power of words\, you’ve found your community!\nEach month\, we’ll explore a different theme and poetic form\, creating a relaxed space where poetry becomes accessible and alive. Share in any or all of our three rounds:\nRound 1: Theme-based poems\nRound 2: Explorations of form\nRound 3: Open choice finale\nNo experience needed – just bring your love of language. We even have poems on hand if you’d like to join in but haven’t brought your own.\nThis adult (18+) group embraces poetry’s full range\, from playful to profound. Come discover how poetic forms can serve feeling\, and how ancient patterns can amplify modern voices. No critiques\, no pressure – just the joy of experiencing poetry together.\nWe generally meet Thursdays evening from 6:30 – 8:00 pm\, with exceptions in April & May.\nApril 16\nApril Agenda\nRound 1: Theme-based poems \nApril’s theme is “Bloom.” You choose what that means. You could read/write a poem about flowers\, ideas\, love. Or maybe it’s about blooming social injustice. Even algae blooms would qualify\, if there are any biology poets out there!\nRound 2: Explorations of form / technique\n\nFor April\, we’re focusing on the literary techniques of Sound Devices\, which poets use to convey and reinforce meaning. To find poems to share\, simply ask your favorite web browser or AI assistant “Please help me find poems that feature sound devices.” \n\nRound 3: Open choice finale \nIf you want to share a winter poem in July\, go for it! Love reading “The Raven” out loud? Do it! (Time limit is two minutes\, so choose your favorite stanzas.)
