DESCRIPTION:Stroll through history at Willow Wild Cemetery this October with the Sam Rayburn House State Historic Site. On Saturday\, October 28th\, the Sam Rayburn House will host its 14th annual Cemetery Walking Tour. \nWillow Wild Cemetery’s most famous resident may be Sam Rayburn\, but there are many prominent Bonhamites interred there. This year’s tour will feature notable medical professionals. From Mr. Sam’s personal physician\, Dr. Joe Risser\, to Dr. Thomas Spies\, a world-renowned physician who developed cures for Pellagra\, sprue\, and pernicious anemia\, come learn about the life changing contributions Bonham residents have made to the world of healthcare. \nThe free guided tour will begin at Sam Rayburn’s grave near the flagpoles at 10:30 a.m. Attendees are encouraged to wear comfortable walking shoes and dress for the weather. For those that prefer to tour at their own pace\, Sam Rayburn House staff will be on site from 10 a.m. to noon to provide self-guided pamphlets and directions to the featured graves on the tour.

Families may catch a horse drawn carriage at the Courthouse Square for a ride to Christmas Tree & Lollipop Lane!  The Lane will include vintage Christmas decorations\, special Guests (TBA)\, and vendors serving holiday treats!  There is no charge to the public to enjoy Christmas Tree & Lollipop Lane! \n$500/Tree (Business/Organization) \nAll Funds raised will be used to help purchase new decorations for Christmases to come! \nLarge Banner Sponsor – $1\,000 \nMedium Banner Sponsor – $500 \nSmall Banner Sponsor – $250

Enjoy first floor tours of the Rayburn House as it’s decorated for Christmas\, a holiday the Rayburn family celebrated. Stop by our Visitor Center for some hot apple cider and sweet treats before making some popsicle stick ornaments to take home. This event is free to attend\, and all are welcome!
