Leadership Fannin

We are excited to announce “Leadership Fannin”, the chamber’s first comprehensive leadership program! Our mission is to equip individuals to become stewards by providing them with leadership skills and vital information that motivates them to service and by connecting them with life-long business and personal relationships.

Benefits & Values

For Participants:  Leadership Fannin participants receive an education about the history and the current infrastructure of the community at large while developing valuable relationships with civic and business leaders and instilling the importance of personal development and self-care.

For the Community:   Leadership Fannin encourages participants to engage with the community, inspiring a deep sense of connection that fosters growth and the ability to address issues critical to Fannin County.

For the Business Community:  Businesses that invest in their employees through Leadership Fannin benefit from the employee’s newfound understanding of the workings of the city and county and their empowerment to make a change based on the recognition of their strengths and passion and willingness to lead.

 

The Curriculum

Retreat – Participants attend a full-day retreat that engages them in team building and helps them identify individual strengths and leadership styles.

History – Participants learn of the historical highlights of the county and why it is so valuable in what brings tourism to the communities and its importance to our future.

Economic & Workforce Development – Participants will have a full day of discovering why Fannin County is business oriented, including workforce trends and issues & tours of local facilities.

City/County/State Government – Local leaders from our City, County & State will address the class on how each government entity functions and how they work together for the betterment of the community. Each participant must attend at least one City Council meeting and at least one meeting of the Fannin County Commissioners Court.

Social Services – Participants are introduced to the entities and non-profit organizations that serve our county’s social needs and how these agencies are crucial to our success.

Healthcare Services – Participants will learn about the strengths and weaknesses of the local healthcare organizations and issues and the impact of rural healthcare on the community at large.

Education – The class will visit county ISD campuses and learn of their common issues, challenges, and programs for our youth.

Service Project – The class will mandatorily participate in a community project that reinforces the value of giving back to the community.

 

The Cost
Chamber Members:  $700
Future Members:  $875, includes 1 year Business Partner membership with Chamber of Commerce
Tuition can be financed by the individual, the employer, or a sponsoring organization. Payment is due in full before the first session.  Tuition is non-refundable.

Applicant Requirements
Participants and their employers must commit to this program for it to be effective for each student. Former class members from leadership programs include vice presidents of banks, business owners, teachers, managers, professors, attorneys, administrative personnel, and more.
