The Bonham Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to offer Leadership Fannin, a comprehensive leadership development program designed to inspire, educate, and connect current and emerging community leaders.

Through behind-the-scenes experiences, interactive sessions, and meaningful conversations with local leaders, participants gain a deeper understanding of what makes Bonham and Fannin County thrive. The program explores local government, economic development, history and tourism, education, healthcare, social services, and more, while emphasizing personal growth, community involvement, and servant leadership.

Leadership Fannin is about more than developing leadership skills — it’s about building lasting relationships, discovering opportunities to serve, and making a positive impact on the future of Fannin County.

The Curriculum

Meet & Greet

Kick things off with a casual gathering at Neighbors Place Winery, where participants get acquainted and begin building relationships with their fellow classmates.

A full-day retreat led by Drew Myers of Open Mouth Communications, speaker, author, coach, and voice of the Bonham Now Podcast. Through interactive activities and team building, participants explore their individual strengths, leadership styles, and communication skills.

Discover the people, places, and events that shaped Bonham and Fannin County while exploring the importance of preserving local history and promoting tourism.

Explore the businesses, industries, and workforce that keep Fannin County moving through facility tours, discussions with business leaders, and a closer look at local economic opportunities.

Learn about local healthcare organizations, the challenges of rural healthcare, and how access to quality care impacts our communities.

Discover the organizations and resources supporting individuals and families throughout Fannin County, the challenges they face, and opportunities for community involvement.

Visit local school campuses, meet with educators, and explore the programs, opportunities, and challenges shaping the future of our students and workforce.

Go behind the scenes of local government, meet public officials, and learn how different levels of government work together to serve our communities.

Put servant leadership into action through a hands-on community service project supporting Autumn in Bonham, experiencing firsthand the value of teamwork, volunteerism, and giving back.

Leadership Fannin celebrates the completion of the program with a graduation luncheon recognizing participants for their commitment to learning, leadership, and community service. Throughout the program, graduates have explored the people, organizations, and opportunities that make Fannin County special while building relationships and discovering new ways to give back.

Applicant Requirements

Leadership Fannin welcomes individuals from a wide range of professions and backgrounds who share a desire to learn, grow, and serve their community. Participants may include business owners, educators, healthcare professionals, public servants, emerging leaders, and anyone interested in becoming more involved in Fannin County.

To get the most out of the program, participants must be committed to attending scheduled sessions, participating in community activities, and completing program requirements, including attendance at designated public meetings and Chamber networking events. Employer support is essential for participants whose schedules require time away from work.

The Cost

Chamber Members: $700
Future Members: $850 (includes a one-year Connect Partner membership with the Bonham Area Chamber of Commerce)

Tuition covers program sessions, materials, tours, and meals. Payment may be made by the participant, their employer, or a sponsoring organization. Tuition must be paid in full before the first session and is non-refundable.
